Find a Student Organization

There are over 1,400 student organizations at Ohio State and over half of all students join a student organization. Students who choose to get involved achieve many positive outcomes - leadership skills, better grades, friendships and mentors, and make a big campus seem small. Use the tools below to search for, find, and get involved with student organizations.

You can also connect with many of our student organizations at our Student Involvement Fairs in August and January. Check out the Student Involvement Fairs webpage for the latest information.

For individualized assistance find the student organization that's right for you, schedule a Get Involved Consultation. These 30-minute meetings will provide a personalized list of recommendations based on your interests and aspirations.

Please consult this list of student organizations with revoked registration as of Autumn 2024. Some organizations continue to operate after their registration has been revoked despite the action taken by the university. We encourage you to review an organization’s status before becoming involved with it, especially because sometimes an organization’s status is revoked due to serious concerns like hazing and other behavior that risks your health and safety.

Engineers Without Borders at The Ohio State University

Campus: Columbus
Status: Active - Established
Purpose Statement: Engineers Without Borders (EWB) is an international organization that applies engineering solutions to aid in the development of underprivileged communities through community-centered design. EWB-OSU is the student led chapter at The Ohio State University of the national organization. EWB-OSU provides professional development, real world engineering service projects, and networking to its members. We have recently completed the monitoring and evaluation phase of our international project located in N'jau, The Gambia and are looking to continue this partnership into the future. This project dealt with access a sustainable water source for agricultural purposes and we will be traveling in the future to make improvements on previous additions and assist the community in learning to maintain these additions. Additionally, we are in the implementation phase of a structural project in Carrera, Ecuador to improve educational infrastructure. Our chapter traveled to Ecuador last summer and plans on continuing to travel at least once a year to implement the project and evaluate the progress. Our local projects teams work with a variety of organizations in central Ohio including Green Columbus, Friends of the Olentangy Watershed, CHA Animal Shelter and more. Local projects provides many opportunities for hands-on experiences in our own community, including through the many volunteering events we host every semester. Current local projects include designing and producing accessible bilateral stimulation tappers, creating and implementing a bike powered pump for harvesting water from barrels for a tree nursery, and designing a community garden for South Side Family Farms. Our fundraising, marketing, and social teams work to provide funding for our projects as well as keep our members excited and engaged.
