All student organization Advisors are encouraged to sign up for upcoming programs intended for advisors. Standard annual programs geared toward advisors are:
Advisor Appreciation Breakfast - Fall 2024 - Date to be announced
Held annually in early-mid Fall Semester, Advisor Breakfast is intended to bring student organization leaders and their advisors together to kick off the school year. Advisors can invite up to two students to come along for good conversation while enjoying a delicious buffet breakfast. This is the perfect opportunity to reconnect with the students and discuss their plans for the school year.
Advisor Appreciation Lunch - Spring 2024

11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. - Ohio Union Great Hall Meeting Room
Student organization staff/faculty advisors and co-advisors are invited to a lunch & learn hosted by the Ohio Union and Student Activities team. This year’s Advisor Lunch will kick off with a short 30-minute presentation preparing advisors to support essential processes such as leadership transitions and strategic planning, as well as an overview of key resources. The presentation will be followed by informal table conversations about other topics such as best practices, risk management, and motivation/delegation. This is a drop-in style program, and it is not required to be present for the entirety of the event or arrive at the beginning. Slides will be shared with all attendees after the event, and the buffet lunch will remain open throughout the event while food lasts. This is the perfect opportunity to leverage the advising community’s experience working with student organizations, as this event is intended for advisors and co-advisors only.
The sign-up will remain open until the event is at capacity, though please submit dietary or physical accommodation needs by February 5 to ensure access. The full menu and program details are provided in the confirmation email.

Advisor Lunch & Learn Workshop: Advising Through Conflict - REGISTRATION OPEN

Come lunch and learn with the Student Org Team and campus experts in a new program designed specifically to equip staff and faculty advisors to navigate conflict within a student organization. This 90-minute workshop offers an interactive learning environment that will cover common types of conflicts, tools and go-to techniques for facilitating dialogue and finding resolution, and campus resources and services that support in times of conflict. This event is for advisors and co-advisors only.
