BuckeyeThon Scavenger Hunt

Organization: BuckeyeThon

Date: February 23

BuckeyeThon is hosting our first-ever Scavenger Hunt around Columbus! The Scavenger Hunt will be open from 10am-6pm on February 23rd. The Columbus community does a great job of supporting our efforts in fundraising For The Kids at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, so we wanted an event that showcased more of the city! With the help of our BuckeyeThon Miracle Families, we created a 12-stop Scavenger Hunt that can be completed totally virtually or in a hybrid format.

FAN Resource Awareness Event

Organization: Fostering Achievement Network

Date: March 19

The Fostering Achievement Network (FAN) and The Columbus State Scholar Network (CSSN) are coming together to host an event for the current and former foster youth in higher education in the Columbus community. President of FAN Cloé Cooper and CSSN Program Coordinator Katrina De Los Santos will showcase resources available to foster alumni and students in the community and on campus.

Slater-Johnson Memorial Banquet

Organization: Black Graduate and Professional Student Caucus

Date: March 26

The Black Graduate and Professional Student Caucus is hosting their 26th Annual Slater-Johnson Banquet on Friday, March 26th! This year’s theme, “Looking Back to Move Forward,” celebrates the Caucus’ efforts over the past year to facilitate intentional and meaningful connections amongst Black students at OSU and Black young professionals. FAN Open Mic Night

Organization: Fostering Achievement Network

Date: April 16

The Fostering Achievement Network (FAN) and The Columbus State Scholar Network (CSSN) are coming together to host an event for the current and former foster youth in higher education in the Columbus community. Members of both organizations will present an original piece to display their talent or present the work of others to share more about themselves with the group and why their piece matters to them and their academic and personal success.

eVTOL Competition Live Stream

Organization: Buckeye Vertical

Buckeye Vertical, Advanced Air Mobility Student Org. will be attending Vertical Flight Society's eVTOL competition against other schools and teams in a fly-off competition at an army research base. Live stream details will be announced later!

Organization: Online Impacts

Online Impacts is a nonprofit organization that develops websites, digital marketing, and technology solutions for nonprofits completely free of cost. They were featured on Digital Journal, Fox News, 2 News, and many more news sources. They were also promoted and recognized by Dikembe Mutombo(NBA Hall of Famer). They are introducing a club organization at Ohio State and are looking for people to take the following positions - President, Vice President, Director of - Finance, Technology, Digital Marketing, Fundraising, Partnerships, and Events. Applications are due by 3/1.

Ohio State Pre-Veterinary Medical Association

Organization: Pre-Veterinary Medical Association

Are you interested in learning more about a career in veterinary medicine? Check out Ohio State’s Pre-Veterinary Medical Association (aka Pre-Vet Club)! Our purpose, as stated in our Official Constitution is "to provide an opportunity through which interested students may meet, explore, and gain knowledge of the field of veterinary medicine.” We host biweekly general body meetings where you can learn more about different areas of the field and network. We also host fundraisers, social events for networking, volunteering (even virtual during COVID!), a mental health support group, and opportunities to promote diversity and inclusion.

Ohio Staters, Inc. Weekly Meetings

Organization: Ohio Staters, Inc.

Ohio Staters, Inc is Ohio State's oldest student service organization and seeks to promote Ohio State traditions and student welfare throughout campus by organizing projects and hosting events open to all.

Our weekly projects meeting is where all project reports are reviewed and critiqued so they can be advanced towards implementation. This meeting (link: go.osu.edu/osiprojects) is a great meeting to attend to learn more about the Staters project process! Meetings occur every Tuesday from 5:45pm-6:45pm.

Our weekly research and development meeting is where all project brainstorming is done. This meeting (link: go.osu.edu/osiR-D) is very collaborative and gives great insight on how Staters generates our awesome project ideas! Meetings occur every Wednesday from 6:00pm-7:00pm.

Luncheon is Ohio Staters' weekly meeting which serves to conduct all organizational business and keep the body informed on what's happening throughout Staters. While this meeting is currently held virtually (link: go.osu.edu/osiluncheon), it is still a great way to learn more about Staters and the ways we promote Ohio State traditions and student welfare each and every day! Luncheon is held weekly on Thursdays from 11:30am-12:30pm.

Video Essay Club

Organization: Video Essay Club

The Video Essay Club is a new student org that aims to bring together any and all Buckeyes who have a shared interest in academic videography to collectively discuss, appreciate, and improve their skills in this field. By giving members an opportunity to learn from and communicate with each other through discussions, workshops, and screenings, VEC endeavours to develop members' fluency with the techniques of academic videography and inspire a shared passion for artistic and intellectual pursuit in this relatively new genre of digital media.
