Service and Outreach

Pay It Forward has created a Socially Distant Service webpage in response to the current health crisis. If you are looking to volunteer consider the following, call ahead to see if they are accepting volunteers, practice social distancing, inquire about virtual volunteer roles, consider donating items or dollars instead of time.

In fulfillment of the university's mission, "education for citizenship," Ohio State students have numerous opportunities to connect with communities, engage in social justice issues, and develop skills for active citizenship. Student Activities offers a variety of programs designed to help students engage at a local, national, and global level.

Description

NNEMAP Food Pantry is a Mid-Ohio Food Bank partner agency. We are one of the busiest pantries in Columbus, distributing over 800,000 pounds of food to nearly 4,000 households annually. We will distribute the equivalent of about 450,000 meals in 2018. Volunteer hours are M-T-W-Th-F from 8:30am to 12 noon. Volunteers help fulfill operational roles such as shelf stocker, stock room/inventory assistant and personal shopper. More specific information on these roles can be found here: nnemappantry.org/volunteer. Volunteers work alongside paid staff and veteran volunteers, many of whom have been serving the organization for 10 years or more. So you'll be in good hands in this fun and fast-paced volunteer location!
