Kick off the year with Fashion Retail Studies! Join us on September 15th from 6-8pm for the FRS Speaker Series with Celeste Malvar-Stewart in Curl Viewpoint! Celeste is a Filipina American fashion and fibre artist who focuses on sustainable design, emphasizing the importance of slow fashion within one of the most harmful industries, and its role in contemporpary art.
She works with Ohio family farms to obtain luxury wool and alpaca fibre to create her hand-felted textiles and ethereal couture fashion, using all organic materials including natural dyes, many of which she grows and forages locally. She has exhibited her work in various museums and galleries and is published worldwide.
Join fellow students before the speaker presentation for networking, pizza and refreshments, and discovering FRS club offerings!
ALL students from ALL majors are welcome to attend this event.
