The Ohio Union Activities Board (OUAB) and Deaf Hearing Club presents A Conversation with Marlee Matlin!
Join us for an inspiring evening with academy award winning actress and author, Marlee Matlin. Marlee Matlin is an acclaimed American actress, author, and activist who broke barriers as the first deaf performer to win an Academy Award, earning the Oscar for Best Actress in 1987 for her role in Children of a Lesser God. She has since built a successful career in television and film, appearing in shows like The West Wing, Switched at Birth, and CODA, which won Best Picture at the 2022 Oscars. Beyond acting, Matlin is a passionate advocate for the deaf community, working to promote accessibility and inclusion in the entertainment industry and beyond. Her achievements have paved the way for greater representation of people with disabilities in media.
